So, we are going into our second weekend of a written schedule of the things we will do each day from Friday through Sunday. That way, we all know what errands have to be done and when we will fit them in, and when time for fun is coming up (and if there is something specific planned). The kids both get some special time all to themselves with me since they tend to act out a lot to get my attention and definitely compete for my time. The Boy really looked forward to this last weekend...though he did try to short change his sister by calling some all together play time her special time. Nice try, buddy! I think this more structured time is really important for my schedule-oriented family. It also makes it easier to see what will be realistic to pack into our short time together.
Hope you all have some special time with your families and/or friends this weekend!
Hey - special shout out to Nikk - Happy Moving Weekend! You know I'd be there to help if we lived closer.

Yeah... yeah... Friends help you move, GOOD friends help you move bodies. =) I'll keep you in reserve for that.... hmmmmm... perhaps not such a good post on a law-dedicated blog eh...? Oh well, political correctness has never stopped me before.
Thanks for the good wishes. Have a great weekend!
I just think it is wonderful that you recognize that each child needs their own special time with you and "act out" to get your attention. Not all parents are as cognizant! Yay for schedules (and lists)!
Family times are the best, aren't they? Life is so much simpler when that is built in to the schedule. The individual time is important, but if I *had* to forgo one or the other, I'd keep family time because it builds on the support needed for survival.
